Williams F1 keeps its wheels on

IMG_1250Metal wrenches against metal.  Too much time on the trigger.  A baby screams.  Fingers strain as a wheel slugs into place and a hand chops down to mark job done.  The time is unconvincing.

Final chance to slice the margins downwards.  The stopwatch flies – slick and precise.  In the first blur the wheel nut traps in the gun and the brief scramble to realign surges the time to over 35 seconds.   Aspiration deflates … it’s been a coffee and croissants performance suitable only for caravans.

Book Review: I Am Zlatan Ibrahimovic (told to David Lagercrantz)

(November 2012 Sweden played England – the score 4 -2 – all four goals were scored by Zlatan).

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a six foot five inch Swede whose parents are from the former Yugoslavia.  He is one of football’s greatest strikers.

This book is about football from where he stands. The pace is agitated and powerful and page one starts with the two words that have caused the striker the greatest upset to date – Pep Guardiola.

Oops – it’s not a pretzel

There was panic in our house last night at 8pm as we raced to find the sofa located somewhere beneath the teenager.  The final of the Great British Bake Off was about to begin.  Where was the remote control?

We were not alone – over nine million of us tuned in at some point during last night’s bake off.  It was intense from the first floury flurry.
